Magnificent pair of collectible fine porcelain plates from Limoges, stamped "A. Lanternier & Cie". Authenticity: Green marking "Limoges France" dating from the period 1891-1914. Unique design: Stunning clouded backgrounds in ochre and sky blue. Polylobed edge with fine gold trim. Fruit decorations: One plate adorned with purple plums, the other with currants and berries. Excellent condition. The colours are vibrant, and the gilding is very well preserved. Ready to use: These plates are equipped with old wall mounts (see photos of the back) and are ready to decorate a wall or display case. "One plate is stamped A. Lanternier & Cie, the second is identical in every way (mould, decoration, and paste) but does not bear a visible mark, which is common in the older productions of this manufacturer.".
