The Plastic Armchairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s were presented for the first time as part of the “Low Cost Furniture Design” competition organized by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The hull with organic lines was originally made of fiberglass. Reissued by Vitra with a polypropylene shell, the Eames Plastic DAR (Dining Armchair Rod base) still offers great comfort at an affordable price.
