Here is a solid pine chest of drawers dating from the 1930s-1940s. The work of its wood - grooves and carved flowers - marks its art-deco style. It has been sanded, treated against wood-eating insects, then painted with a very slightly pinkish beige tint that makes it luminous (professional brand unikalo, biosourced naé range, cov a+). A protective varnish was then applied. The bottom of the drawers has been covered with vintage English wallpaper with honeysuckle patterns. The original handles, no longer in use, have been replaced by second-hand buttons from the same period. A charming piece of furniture, with compact dimensions that allow it to be considered in multiple locations! Nb: this item is an old item sold second-hand and restored by hand. It therefore naturally shows traces of time and its life. This is precisely what makes its charm and gives it a unique character. In particular on this chest of drawers: Traces of woodworms are visible in different places on the piece of furniture (see photographs). As previously indicated, the wood has been treated and is now perfectly sound; Its artisanal construction and its age explain irregularities in the shapes of the piece of furniture (corners, scattered traces of small impacts, alignment of the drawers, etc.), which have been preserved so as not to distort its history (see photographs). The three drawers slide without difficulty. Note a small notch when closing the first drawer due to wear of the slide. A slight relief can be seen on the fronts of the drawers, corresponding to the location of the old handles (see photographs). The wallpaper applied in the drawers is a 1960s wallpaper found in a second-hand shop which has a few small traces/irregularities, in no way detracting from its aesthetics (see photographs).
