FULVIO BIANCONI (1915-1996), for PAOLO VENINI, MURANO, 1970s. "FAZZOLETTO" vase in red (handkerchief in Italian), made of blown glass, with a wavy rim, emblematic of Venetian design. It bears the acid signature Venini Murano Italy. Very good condition. Height: 6 cm, width: 10 cm. The Fazzoletto vase is exhibited in the world's greatest museums, including MoMA in New York. Created in 1948 by Fulvio BIANCONI in collaboration with Paolo VENINI, it is undoubtedly one of the most famous designs in the history of 20th-century glass. The glass appears to capture the fluid movement of a fabric handkerchief frozen in the air. The master glassmaker spins the molten glass with a rapid circular motion, resulting in these natural and asymmetrical ripples. Each piece is therefore unique as the shape depends on the gesture of the master glassmaker. Located in Paris Sentier (75002).
