Antique rococo-style mirror, with a contoured shape, featuring a gilded wooden and stucco frame with sculpted decoration: two winged putti flank an acanthus plume at the top, and a garland of flowers and foliage adorns the lower part. 19th century. This is a mirror from my family; it was given to my maternal grandmother (from Provence) for her wedding in the 1950s. I do not know more about its history. I date it to the 19th century based on its style and appearance. It could be older, but it is impossible to prove in its current state. On the back, there is a label from a framer-gilder in Marseille ("Papeterie du Lycée, 24 rue de l’Académie, Marseille"). It is clean, the gilded frame shows a beautiful old patina, and the gilding is worn in places. It has probably been restored at the top right. The backing is worn and partially torn, and the suspension cord is recent. [Specify the condition of the mirror: pitting, original or replaced backing.] Weighing nearly 2.5kg, it measures 55 cm in height and 34 cm in width, with a depth of 11 cm.
