A plate with polychrome floral decoration, in Quimper earthenware Signed Paul Fouillen (1899-1958) on the reverse Period: circa 1940 Diameter 20 cm Ref adequantik 2105515 Good condition Paul Fouillen (1899-1958), French ceramic artist. 1918: Studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes 1922: Earthenware worker in the HB factory in Quimper. Paul discovers the Breton artistic world, notably through the Seiz Breur creators' movement 1925: Medal winner at the Decorative Arts Exhibition as workshop manager of the HB earthenware factory 1929: Launch of his own factory in Quimper 1937: Medal winner at the International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques 1945: Development of the earthenware factory 1949: Maurice, his son, joins the family business 1956: opening of the Fouillen Museum After the death of Paul Fouillen, Maurice will continue his father's work until 1980.
