Antique wall wooden Portuguese corbel

Decorations can always have something special, something personalized in order to make our decoration more exclusive and different. That's why I consider that the small details are very important. Discreet or exuberant, details can make all the difference in a decoration. The corbels, for example, can be those small differentiating details. There are all types of corbels, of all shapes and materials. This is an antique wooden corbel, with a foot carved in naturalistic shapes and painted in different colors: gold, red and white details. In the photos, we can see the antiquity of both the wood and the painting. It is a half-moon shaped base, see the measurements below. It has the traditional shape with the lower part being very elaborate with very exuberant naturalistic details, narrower at the base which widens towards the top. It is prepared to be fixed on the wall with two small rings fixed on the back. We can also see the interaction of the different parts of the corbel and therefore verify the difference of woods that compose it. This corbel is in good vintage condition. However in the photographs we can see that it shows many evident signs of wear from time and use, because it is indeed an antique corbel. The colors are worn and scratched and you can see the imperfections in the paint. The wood also has flaws and chips, both in the golden carving and in the other parts. On the top we can see that it has some well-demarcated dark spots and on the back edge a very evident chip. On the top of the base it seems that something is missing, by the detail photos we can see that it seems that something broke from the wood (please see the photos well). Apart from all that you can also see some dust and rubbish accumulated over time. The hooks on the back, for hanging on the wall are darkened by rust. Actually all these signs just give it its patina and it is quite solid. This piece has just been cleaned and treated in order to keep all its originality.
