Woven wicker bassinet

Woven wicker bassinet. France, mid-20th century. Natural wicker bassinet with an oval structure, resting on a stable base. The sides are adorned with a crisscross weave. The two movable side handles are made of wrapped wicker strands and reinforced with natural fibre binding, ensuring the overall sturdiness. The interior includes a recent foam mattress, covered with a light, removable fabric, in line with its original use. This bassinet reflects the vernacular craftsmanship of French workshops from the mid-20th century. Length: 80 cm. Width: 47 cm. Height: 29 cm. Recent foam mattress included. A frame system for the bassinet hood is also included. Healthy and stable wicker, with one broken rattan strand (see photo) that does not affect structural integrity.
