Table Super Ellipse by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen

Design piet hein, bruno mathsson and arne jacobsen, 1968. The result of the collaboration between 3 renowned designers, the danes piet hein and arne jacobsen and the swedish bruno mathsson, the table top borrows piet hein's preferred form. He imagines and designs this elliptical shape according to a mathematical equation, at first in order to solve traffic problems for swedish motorways, he will later use it as a basis for multiple creations, indeed this one is the perfect combination of rectangle and circle: the super ellipse. The base with flared metal branches was created by bruno mathsson and the base of the shaker version will be designed by arne jacobsen. Light gray laminate top with aluminum edging - chrome base.
