French gilded bronze glass & crystal 6 light louis xv style cage chandelier 3045

Magnificent french antique 6 light gilded bronze glass and crystal cage chandelier in a louis XV style dating from the early 1920s. The chandelier is made up of a three sided central cage formation and 6 arms with acanthus leaf detail. The arms lead to raised candle drip holders and the candle drips are the old card type in keeping with the age of the chandelier. To the top and in the centre of the cage are rows of small curved arms each with a crystal droplet and two decorative glass embellishments. The chandelier hangs from a 3 link chain and decorative ceiling rose. This beautiful chandelier adorned with crystals of many shapes and sizes would make a wonderful focal point in your interior design. Best suited to larger rooms and higher ceilings due to size and weight.the light is working with french twin core wiring and takes 6 small screw in bulbs. The frame work is solid with a lovely aged worn patina and verdigris which adds to its character. It has been cleaned but not polished so you can decide on its overall finish.the crystals and glass pieces are bright and complete with no visible chips or cracks. The candle drips are a little worn in places.we recommend that all electrical items are checked by a qualified electrician in your own country to comply with local safety regulations.
