Two Rare French Majolica Sun and Moon Wall Plates 1880 Two rare French majolica wall plates depicting a sun and moon glazed in golden yellow, typical of Vallauris ceramics. Provençal style, it is unsigned and dates from the 1880s, the very beginning of the installation of the Vallauris pottery kilns. Very slight age cracks in the honey-colored glaze. There are small chips on the rim of the plates. No cracks or missing chips. Diameter 22.4 cm, height 2.5 cm Weight 580 grams each.
