Art Deco Club Armchair, attributed to the Ateliers Martine (Paul Poiret). This exceptional model reinterprets extreme oriental aesthetics with remarkable modernity. Its enveloping structure and geometric lines, softened by the subtle curve of the armrests, delicately highlight a front base decorated with layers. These carefully crafted details of geometricisation of organic forms are typical of Paul Poiret's creations and his Asian inspiration. This seat represents a perfect synthesis between the vibrancy of the Roaring Twenties and the poetry of Eastern decorative arts. Condition: • Structure: Very good overall condition, the armchair is perfectly stable and solid. • Patina: Repainted white during its lifetime. Natural wear in contact areas (notably the base of the legs) and some scratches poetically reveal its original colour. • Cushioning: The seat cushion presented is not original and its size can be optimised to perfect the line of the armchair. However, it allows for immediate use as is. A rare piece that will inspire enthusiasts to adapt its textile and patina to the requirements of their interior. Dimensions: Total width 61.5 cm, height 71 cm, depth 55.5 cm. The seat height is 40 cm with the current cushion, or 30 cm without.
