English mid 20th century silver-plated coffee pot with wicker wrapped handle, 11 cm high silver-plated coffee pot with raffia handles they were suitable for tea, coffee, milk, etc., the truncated cone shape and the completely smooth body, give them a sober and very elegant appearance. Both the spout and the lid integrate harmoniously into the whole; but the real originality of both objects are the handles: they have been perfectly and masterfully covered with raffia threads, an extra touch of refinement, which also helps prevent overheating. There are small signs of wear as in the photo. Raffia is a strong fiber obtained from the leaves of a tropical plant; it is ecru in color with shades of straw yellow, it has a very strong but not rough consistency; raffia is a plant and should not be confused with straw, which is the result of the stalks of cereals and therefore a waste product of threshing.
