Faux Buffet with a secret compartment in carved oak – St Louis XV/Regency (br) – Early 20th century. Elegant low oak sideboard, featuring a richly worked and sculpted front. It opens with two large doors adorned with panels featuring a grid pattern, framed by mouldings with movement. The front is enhanced with sculptures of foliage, shells, and floral motifs, particularly on the corners, the central post, and the lower crossbar. The lower part, with a curved shape, rests on four cabriole legs ending in scrolls, giving the whole piece a beautiful decorative appearance inspired by the Louis XV style. The interior offers significant storage space with a shelf. Moulded top with a slight overhang. A decorative and functional piece of furniture, which can be used as a sideboard, console table, or storage unit in both antique and contemporary interiors. French work from the first half of the 20th century. Overall good condition with some signs of use, small marks, and wear related to age visible, particularly on the back and inside, without detracting from the overall aesthetic of the piece.
