Vintage ''mandarin'' wall lamp designed by michael bang. Produced by holmegaard glass factory in denmark in the 1980s. A beautiful classic danish design lamp in mouth-blown glass from one piece. The color is opal with which gives a nice room lighting. The history of the holmegaard glassworks began in 1825. Count christian danneskiold-samsøe asked the king of denmark for permission to obtain a glassworks in holmegaard mose. However, the earl died in 1823 without receiving an answer to his request. Shortly after his death, he received permission from the king to establish a glassworks. His widow, countess henriette danneskiold-samsøe, therefore continues the project. The first production at the holmegaard glass factory started in 1825. Initially, the factory was only green bottles. However, henriette also wanted to produce clear glass cups. Thus, bohemian glassblowers were able to manufacture these. The history of glassworks is the story of a few small glassworks in a cattle swamp. In a period of 185 years they emerged from a large modern group. In the 20th century, artists emerged and designed holmegaard's glass products. This was the beginning of a long and proud tradition.
