Pair of ceramic vases or pitchers by Marius Bessone, circa 1950/60. Background in white and black lava glaze decorated on both sides with polychrome geometric figures, blue, yellow, pink, brown, green and orange enameled pastilles. Enamelled yellow interior. Very good used condition. Height: 18.5cm - width: 13cm - depth: 10cm - weight: 1.5kg. Marius Bessone (1929-2001) Between 1949 and 1954, he studied both industrial technique for architecture and ceramic decoration. He opened his own workshop where, from that moment on, he tested different processes such as crystallization, brown-toned reliefs and volcanic effects with lightly colored grids. He will participate in almost all the Vallauris biennials as well as in prestigious exhibitions across France and Europe. He opened a workshop in Vallauris, with his wife Huguette, in 1954.
