Monumental 19th century clock by Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892) Superb bronze being the exact replica of the work of Jean Goujon (1510-1569), representing Diane de Poitiers (1499-1566), who was the favorite for more than twenty years of Henry II, King of France. Very very beautiful patina, sublimated by time, not cleaned of course. Signature: f. Barbedienne. Founder. Stamp: mechanical reduction a. Collas patents. Numbered: 35. Louis xvi style clock, in green onyx veined with pink, with gilded bronze garlands. Mechanism Adolphe Mougin (1835-1889) Discreet onyx restorations at the bottom: almost invisible at the front (see photos 6), and discreet at the back (see photo 7) Service at the watchmaker to be expected. Clock attributed to Barbedian. Total height: 59.5cm. Bronze: height 44cm, and weight 5.6kg. Clock: height 15.5cm, width 28cm, depth 26cm, and weight 9.3kg. Very careful shipping via UPS and insured.
