A crystal vase from the 1930s, attributed to the renowned Moser manufactory in Karlovy Vary, is a striking example of Czech artistic craftsmanship from the Art Deco era. Made entirely of high-quality crystal, it retains the characteristic architectural shape of the interwar period, with a pronounced shoulder and a narrowing at the neck. The surface is adorned with numerous sharply cut facets and geometric engravings, all in a saturated, warm amber tone that contrasts with the transparent, crystalline centre. The vase appears solid – a massive polygonal base emphasises its stability, and the shiny, polished edges scatter light in an impressive way, in line with Art Deco style canons. No damage, chips or signs of restoration; condition is very good. This object carries a story of the interwar period – an era when glass from Karlovy Vary spoke with modern geometry and a love for purity of form. The expressive facets and amber glow could tell of balls, lavish salons and a fascination with electric light, which redefined space. Thanks to this vase, you can almost touch the spirit of Art Deco – a synthesis of function and expressive, decorative construction. The Moser vase would fit perfectly in a living room kept in the spirit of modernism or eclectic collector's interiors. It can be combined with walnut or mahogany furniture to emphasise the depth of the amber, or placed by mirrors with geometric cuts to highlight the crystal's reflections. It also works well as a single accent on a 1930s sideboard or a minimalist marble top – both with a dry branch and without any additions, allowing the light and material to speak for themselves.
