Description
Ceramic ashtray in the shape of a painter's palette, published by the pottery rörstrand sweden. It is marked on the background, "rörstrand sweden, handmålat (hand painted), dek. E". Very nice condition. Rörstrand was founded in rörstrand castle in stockholm in 1726 under the direction of johann wolff, a german porcelain manufacturer. This makes rörstrand the second oldest ceramic brand in europe (after meissen, 1709).
