Magnificent old oriental carpet yahyali yuruk around 1940 -1950. Turkish wool carpet handmade by nomads. Very good state of conservation with beautiful colors. Dimension: 245 cm X 132 cm. The turkish word yörük meaning "those who walk" and sometimes francized as yeuruks, refers to turksunnites, initially nomadic. Today largely integrated into the sedentary turkish population, they are still found in the taurus mountains. Originally, the yörük were organized into clans and tribes, and practiced mostly pastoral breeding, handicrafts and trade (especially carpets) throughout the ottoman empire, anatolia and the balkan peninsula3.
