Denbac colocynth candy box

A very beautiful art nouveau candy box or jewelry box in the shape of a quatrefoil colocynth. It is signed denbac, a contraction of rené denert and rené-louis balichon. The company was based in vierzon in cher in the center of france. This is a so-called flamed sandstone. The rounded, twisting lines are the emblem of the noodle style. It measures approximately 16 cm in diameter.
