Old large bowl in crystal or glass

A large vintage bowl with a wavy edge and generously fluted, whose vertical ribs catch the light all around the circumference. This rather heavy piece stands out for its play of flat ribs radiating from the centre to the flared edge, a moulding technique that enhances the reflections and gives movement to this bowl, which is otherwise simple in its overall shape. The base, slightly raised, remains smooth and frosted, contrasting with the worked surface of the basin. Without any visible mark or signature, but very much in the style of Pierre d’Avesne, whose real name was Pierre Girre (1901-1990), who is considered one of the last great representatives of the golden age of Art Deco moulded glass.
