3216 – late 19th century porcelain egg dish haviland/ gérard, dufraissex & morel from one of the oldest porcelain houses in limoges founded in 1797 by françois alluaud senior and taken over by his son françois (1778-1866), the oldest factory dating from 1771, this hand-decorated and gilded egg dish from the end of the 19th century in very good condition. No cracks or chips. It is composed of a dish on which 6 non-removable half-eggs are distributed, entirely decorated with different floral motifs with the edges of all the elements gilded. It is signed on the reverse cfh/gdm for charles field haviland (1832-1896) director of the factory in 1876 taken over in 1881 by gérard, dufraissex and the chemist morel until the latter's departure in 1890 which became in 1900 gérard, dufraissex and abbot (gda). There are also 2 other marks recessed in the porcelain (8 and m). Not only pretty, this piece is rare. Diameter 205mm X 31mm. Weight 510 g. Very careful and tracked shipping.
