Description
Period: ca. 1890-1914 this pretty inkwell is quite original in the sense that the inkwell is fixed on the small decorative tray on which it is located. The square shaped inkwell with hinged lid and brass finishes is made of clear glass or crystal (weight indicates crystal) which has been beveled on the edges; it has a qualitative aspect. The small tray with raised rounded edges has simple pierced decorations of an art nouveau nature on the short sides and these are further embellished with a stylized garland motif. Brass clearly has a high copper content as the reddish tint of copper is apparent. Condition: very good. No damage. Oxidation inside the lid. Dimensions: 6 cm high, 17.5 cm long, 8.3 cm wide, 377 g I can ship to most countries. Do not hesitate to ask me for a shipping quote.
