Art Deco Oak Desk by Morris of Glasgow 1920s

Art deco kneehole desk. An art deco period, circa 1920s oak desk or use as a dressing table, by morris of glasgow. High quality, solidly made desk. The top is red melamine and has a brass surround. The brass drawer pulls are octagonal in shape and match the desk feet. Morris furniture was not available to the general public till well after the war, so this would have been sold to a commercial setting. The woods once used were cherry, walnut burr or oak. The top was designed to take the heat of a cigarette or boiling water. Dimensions (cm): 76h X 109w X 53d. Condition: Character and natural patina are seen.
