Set of 2 leather lounge chairs by Elsa Solheim & Nordahl Solheim for Rybo Rykken

2 chairs in a set. A very rare sculptural organic shaped mid century leather & jacaranda wood chair. This design classic dates from the 1960s & was produced by the leading norwegian mid century design manufacturers rybo rykken & co. It is designed by elsa solheim & nordahl solheim. The chairs shape gives a perfect support and ultimate comfort. Constructed on a jacaranda frame with sweeping legs & cantilevered form. The original brown leather cushions lie in a brown canvas seat which is stretched with rope between the curved wooden frame. Very few of these chairs survive due to a limited production run. This chair is numbered 268 and to base with manafacturers stamp. The jacaranda originals rarely come to the open market. These statement design classics are highly sought after to collectors. The chairs are in great condition. Structually they are perfect and strong. The wooden frame is beautiful and with no damages. The leather is soft and the foam inside is firm. There are scratches on leather on the armrest. Some places the leather has been worn more than other. No smell or odur. All condition is visible on the photos. The low back chair has the same measurements except the height that is 75cm instead of the tall back 90cm. Seat height is 35cm.
