Large glazed stoneware vase signed "Haut 49" – Studio work, circa 1950. Large cylindrical turned stoneware vase, featuring an elongated silhouette with a free and irregular opening, characteristic of studio ceramics from the 1950s. The decoration alternates between reserves of glossy honey glaze and large relief areas covered with deep green glaze punctuated by metallic droplets, as well as a significant vertical panel in black and cobalt blue treated in a very graphic manner. The whole offers a composition that is both organic and abstract, typical of post-war artistic explorations. The piece is made from high-quality chamotte stoneware, whose firing highlights the natural nuances of the clay. Its significant height and sculptural decoration make it a very decorative work, which can be displayed alone as ceramic sculpture. The vase bears a handwritten inscription under the glaze: "Haut 49", probably a signature or studio mention accompanied by the date 1949, with no certain attribution to date. Condition: very good overall condition. No restoration or cracks. Some light signs of use and small superficial chips on the rim, consistent with its age. Dimensions: Height: 49 cm. Base diameter: to be completed. Opening diameter: to be completed. Period: circa 1949-1955. An important piece of French studio ceramics, with a strong decorative presence, reflecting the modernist aesthetic of the post-war period.
