Charming double-sided oil on panel, dated 1930, presented in its old wooden frame with a beautiful patina. The front depicts three geese in a village courtyard, amidst light-filled buildings. The painting is executed in a lively and thick brushstroke, with a beautiful texture and a warm palette of ochres, greys, whites, and browns. The reverse reveals a second composition: a boat by the water, surrounded by trees and vegetation, with some buildings in the distance. The work bears a signature where the first name "Robert" is legible. The surname remains difficult to decipher, and the artist has not been definitively identified. It has a beautiful decorative presence, with a very French countryside/Mediterranean spirit. Dimensions. Frame: 44 × 55 cm. Panel: 34 × 45 cm. Condition. Good antique condition with signs of use and age-related patina. The panel shows an old crease/a slight deformation, particularly visible on the side with the boat. This flaw is very minimally perceptible on the main side with the geese when presented facing the wall. The frame also shows wear, rubbing, and small losses consistent with its age. The photographs are an integral part of the description. An antique decorative piece, ideal for a rustic, Mediterranean, wabi-sabi, or country house interior.
