Art Deco chest of drawers in flambé walnut veneer circa 30's/ 40's

Large art deco chest of drawers circa 30's/40's. This beautifully made chest of drawers has a wooden structure with a veneer of flambé walnut of auvergne and lacquered finish. After mahogany, walnut wood is the most appreciated by cabinetmakers. Its durable structure and the finesse of its grain facilitate the work of sculpture and receives a beautiful polish. The walnut of auvergne is the most renowned and the one that torments itself the least. Its wood is a tawny yellow, veined with brown and the pink hue it takes as it ages adds to its beauty. The slightly elevated carved legs give a little height to the room. The curved façade, the side panels with worked and slightly rounded front corners as well as the smooth edges at the level of the tray bring comfort and originality to the whole room in the respect of the sober and elegant design of the period. The 3 drawers are all functional, clean and spacious (l: 88 p 34 h 17.5) and can easily store a lot of objects. They have their 6 original chrome color handles. The piece is in very good original and vintage condition and although tiny or normal for a piece going kindly towards these 100 years, there are naturally some old traces and marks of use as well as a beautiful patina of time on the tray, the edges (see photo), drawers (photo) and the structure in general (see photos) note a small lack of veneer at the bottom right (see photo), mark of use at the rear left end (see photo) and to the left of the inner edge of the 2nd drawer (see photo). A very beautiful piece, timeless for a vintage, contemporary or modern décor. In an entrance or a room it will attract all eyes.
