Turkish Kilim vintage surpic 103 x 77 cm

These small kilims are made with old blankets from eastern turkey. These are large reworked textile pieces: several layers of weaving are superimposed and then stitched by hand. These small carpets are therefore as fleece and comfortable. They can be used on the floor, on a bench or on a sofa. Each piece is unique. They are reversible and each side is different. In addition to the visible stitching, some carpets have embroidered patterns a bit like flowers or stars, very stylized: the craftsmen have decided to leave apparent the signs of wear of time with these aesthetic mending. In this sense, these pieces evoke the japanese concept of wabi sabi which is based on appreciating the patina of old objects and the authenticity of the material. They are bordered at the four corners by pompoms surmounted by a colored pearl. These are very raw and original pieces that will be perfect at the foot of the bed for example. Cleaning: vacuum cleaner, ventilation. We recommend a deep cleaning every five years or so.
