Vintage 1980s Louis Kalff / Philips Style Italian White Pendant Lamp

A large vintage white metal pendant lamp, modelled after a philips model nb92 lamp, which was designed by louis kalff in the 1950s. We’ve had these ‘inspired’ lamps in the past with made in italy markings, and they appear to be from the mid- to late-1980s. The perfect size and shape for hanging just above eye level over dining tables, kitchen islands and work surfaces, the open shade gives a broad downlight, and the pierced shade adds a decorative element when lit. Pair with a low-wattage bulb for comfortable, intimate lighting, or be dramatic with a crown silver bulb that makes the very most of the white shade surface and casts a diffuse, reflected light with softer shadows and minimal glare. The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, reassembled and brought up to modern safety standards with a new british-made earthed bulb-holder in aged brass, and a good length of premium italian three-core double insulated cable with a vintage style bright orange woven rayon braid. The lamp accepts a single e27 bulb.
