Engraving old architecture columns

Engraving ancient architecture collones: Egyptian, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Gothic. 19th century steel engraving/print in good condition. The steel engravings in this series are original plates from an 1858 publication. Subjects covered include agriculture, anatomy, architecture, astronomy, the military, railroads, chemistry and chemical arts. The paper is medium to heavy weight and pale cream in color with characteristic aging tones to the margins and occasional markings as would be expected since the plates are over 156 years old. Some of the pages were not cut quite straight during the binding process or are tattered at the edge of the binding. Blank on the reverse. The print is medium to dark gray and is finely detailed.
