Praying mantis floor lamp1950's

French attributed to Rispal designer lamp, with rare rhodoid (cellulose acetate) 'pearlshade' shade. The height of this lamp is 160 cm and this item is really very beautiful. This lamp comes from france and was in need of a thorough restoration. Over the years, the wooden construction was often painted over with paint to better match the colors of the interior, so that the beautiful wood drawing disappeared. I have put the lamp back completely on the bare wood and again provided it with a nice oil, so that the wood drawing comes into its own again and the original character is present again. The lamp also received an anti-fungal and anti-woodworm treatment before being repainted. In this way, it is protected for years against negative external influences. The lamp has no infestation of woodworm, which is very exceptional for a lamp of that age. A rispal / praying mantis with a real pearlshade lampshade is always the ultimate. The lampshade is in very nice condition. Many 1950's rispal lamps have a different shade because they have not survived the test of time. The 'stabilizer' or wooden cone on top of the lampshade is still present and that too is rare. This wooden cone slides over the electrical cord and rests on top of the hood so that the hood remains stable due to the weight of the cone. If it is not present, the hood swings back and forth at the slightest sigh because it is so light. Even passing a little too quickly next to the lamp makes her swing when this stabilizer is not there. For safety, the electrical cord and foot switch are new but of the same retro type as the original to be able to be used safely for years to come. The original french b22 bayonet lamp socket and original lamp were of course retained. These b22 'bayonet' bulbs are still very easy to find online and new for the same price as a regular contemporary lamp and they are now even produced as led lamp. So you don't have to worry about not being able to find the bulb when it needs to be replaced. The shade and the screws are not the originals and the lamp is not in Sapelli
