Folding serving cart or dumbwaiter in oak, late 19th/early 20th century. • Simple yet elegant design, with carved borders in a repeating frieze, reminiscent of the Napoleon III style (late 19th century). • Composed of two superimposed shelves, each surrounded by a carved border with a repeating motif. • Structure supported by two angled side supports, joined at the top by a crossbar for added sturdiness and ease of transport. • The base consists of scroll-shaped feet, adding a decorative touch and extra stability. • This type of furniture was used in bourgeois homes as a serving cart, for holding dishes or tea in a living room or dining room. • It can also be used as a decorative shelf, plant stand, or art object display. • Its folding mechanism, supported by two brass arms, allows for easy movement.
