We are delighted to present a striking pair of geometric Art Deco dining or accent chairs, originating from Central Europe in the 1930s. This pair perfectly captures the architectural elegance of the era, moving away from curved lines towards sophisticated, modernist geometry. DESIGN & CRAFTSMANSHIP The defining feature of these chairs is their architectural ladder backrest. The horizontal slats feature stepped, geometric cutouts known as the "Ziggurat" motif. Inspired by the soaring skyscrapers of the 1920s and 30s, this motif is a hallmark of luxury Art Deco design. To match this high-end design, the frames are veneered in rich, striped mahogany. The straight front legs and slightly sabered back legs provide excellent stability and a classic stance. RESTORATION & UPHOLSTERY These chairs have been fully and professionally restored from the ground up in our workshop. WOODWORK: All old varnishes were meticulously stripped. The mahogany was then treated with a premium, eco-friendly hard wax oil. This provides a natural, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against daily use while allowing its deep, warm tones to truly shine. UPHOLSTERY: The drop-in seats have been completely rebuilt with brand new, high-density foam for modern seating comfort. We selected a high-quality woven fabric in a sophisticated shade of denim blue. This cool, contemporary blue creates a breathtaking contrast against the warm, chocolate tones of the mahogany wood.
