šŖ Set of 6 "Conference" armchairs ā Eero Saarinen for Knoll International ā 1970s. Exceptional set of six "Conference" armchairs designed by Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) for Knoll International, dating from the 1970s. These iconic pieces of American modernist design combine a sculptural and enveloping silhouette with elegant black vinyl upholstery and a chrome metal base. A particularly remarkable set due to its homogeneity, condition, and provenance. šØ An iconic model by Eero Saarinen: created in the spirit of organic design cherished by the famous Finnish-American architect and designer, the "Conference" chair is distinguished by its broadly curved backrest, extended by generously proportioned and harmoniously designed armrests. Its enveloping shape naturally conforms to the body, while the opening between the backrest and seat adds remarkable visual lightness. The thick padded seat and four slightly flared tubular chrome legs complete this elegant and timeless silhouette. ⨠Exceptional condition for chairs over fifty years old. The six examples exhibit a beautiful homogeneity, both in terms of upholstery and structures. The period black vinyl has retained its lovely appearance and depth, with only a few discreet signs of use. Very small micro-cuts have been carefully repaired, without compromising the overall aesthetic of the chairs. The chrome bases are also very well preserved, with slight signs of wear consistent with their age. šļø Remarkable comfort and a pronounced sculptural presence: thanks to their generously padded seat, enveloping backrest, and integrated armrests, these chairs offer excellent comfort. They will naturally find their place around a large dining table or in an executive office...
