Rare and spectacular collector's lamp attributed to the master blacksmith Paul Kiss, this work of exceptional quality lies at the boundary between the waning Art Nouveau and the emerging Art Deco. We have never encountered a similar model, suggesting it may be a special commission or a unique piece. This creation features two majestic wild geese, finely sculpted, with their long necks elegantly arched to support the future light points. The realism of the plumage is remarkable: every scale, every feather, and every anatomical detail has been meticulously chiselled in metal. The composition rests on a substantial base combining bronze and wrought iron, richly decorated with foliage, stylised fruits, two symmetrically placed moons, and remarkable openwork ironwork. The two birds feature an ingenious articulated system: The heads pivot, allowing for the orientation of the future lampshades, The bodies are also mobile on their axis, although the clamping system requires revision to achieve perfect stability. The two birds hold an old electrical system in their beaks. The electrical installation needs to be completely redone, as the lamp is currently sold without electrical functionality. The two glass tulips are missing; the situational photographs present a simulation to envision its appearance once restored. The base also has an additional feature: one side of the openwork section opens like a small hatch, providing access to an interior compartment. Inside, there is a metal element that likely served as a support for an old electrical socket or an old power supply system. This piece is offered in its original condition, with its superb old patina and all its character. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
