Very rare antique victorian sardine box in silver metal with caviar butter and original glass insert with bowl, dish and lid with shell floret. A perfect gift for a collector or a beautiful addition to your table, could also be used for butter or cheese. Made in 1887 in england. Former beautiful silver dish decorated sardine dish 1890 marked by the prestigious goldsmith walker and hall, sheffield and numbered 1830 a. Large sardine serving dish covered with thick glass and antique victorian silver plate in 2 pieces, this box is composed of a silver metal stand stand, a beautiful glass lining and a silver metal lid topped with a shell floret. Sardine cans were popular in victorian times, designed specifically as a serving piece to hold sardines for dinner or lunch. The measures: flat with handles: 7.4" X 5.1"/ 19 cm X 13 cm. Glass box: 5.1"/ 13 long X 4.1"/ 10.5 wide X 1.5"/ 4 cm high. Lid: 14 cm X 11.5 cm. Total weight: 1046 g. Beautiful antique victorian sardine and/or butter dish, consisting of a silver metal backing with a rectangular pressed crystal bowl and a lid. State: Glass with 2 small shards almost imperceptible and no other damage, metal with some silver losses and some small stains. In very good condition for his age.
