Bamboo wall mirror, Japanese style, late 19th century, 40 cm

Elegant wall mirror from the napoleon III period, emblematic of the taste for exoticism at the end of the 19th century. Its turned wood structure imitating bamboo reflects the influence of the japanese style then very fashionable. The frame has a remarkable asymmetrical composition, mixing straight and curved rods, which gives the whole a decorative and singular look. The original mirror, square and beveled, is well preserved despite some superficial pitting. The wood offers a beautiful brown patina, regular, with some discreet marks of use on the back and on certain ends, consistent with the age of the piece. The hanging system is to be planned, the back being bare and not equipped.
