Magnificent "soleil" dish louis giraud / vallauris / vintage large "soleil" dish made by louis giraud in vallauris, oxide-enameled ceramic, with a very beautiful brown and black enamel. Some traces due to its age (see photos) can be hung on the wall thanks to the notches provided in the ceramic. Extremely rare and sublime this enameled ceramic by louis giraud signed "giraud vallauris" on the reverse, model created around 1950. Born in 1897, louis giraud is a renowned vallaurian painter and ceramist. He participated in the "golden age of vallauris" alongside the greatest artists of his time, such as derval, portanier, innocenti, picasso... Where he directed an art pottery manufacturing art deco and utility ceramics. When he died in 1985, he left behind a rich and varied body of work.
