Earthenware milk jug with cat handle, Netherlands, Delf - late 19th century

Earthenware ceramic milk jug from the Delft factories - Netherlands circa 1880. On one side of the milk jug, a boat is represented and on the other side, faithful to the tradition of the Delft factories, a mill is painted and is a boat . The endearing detail of this miniature object is that the handle is replaced by a cat who wants to drink the milk contained in the pot. The animal is reproduced in a very realistic way: you can even observe its watchful gaze so that its master does not surprise it. Very good state. Width 12 cm. H 16 cm. Weight: 0.309 kg.
