This sculptural hanging light was designed by svend aage holm-sørensen and produced by holm-sørensen & co. In denmark during the 1960s. The distinctive brass construction, strong geometric form and handcrafted appearance are characteristic of holm-sørensen’s expressive brutalist lighting designs. The warm brass surface beautifully reflects the light and creates an atmospheric, decorative glow. Both lit and unlit, the lamp functions as a striking sculptural object and makes a powerful mid-century statement within an interior. The lamp remains in very good vintage condition. There are some corrosion marks on the top of the ceiling plate, but these are not visible once the lamp is installed. Overall, this is a beautifully preserved example of danish brutalist lighting from the 1960s.
