Pair of bronze candlesticks, louis XVI style, circa 1860-1870... Pair of small chiseled, gilded bronze candlesticks in louis XVI style, half-sided barrel decorated with rams' heads, beaded binet in beribboned scraps, square half-sided base cut, decorated with scrolls and heart stripes. These candlesticks are of superb quality and have retained their original gilding. Candlesticks probably made in a large workshop like that of barbedienne. Presence of figures below a candlestick. 7-3-6-5 I have already cleaned them to bring out the gilding but perhaps they should be cleaned better to remove all the dirt in the bronze carving as well as some remaining traces of the melted wax. Height 20.8 cm. Base 8.5 cm. Total weight 1290 grams.
