Plate with a white background, wide wing, slightly scalloped edge, and border highlighted with moldings. Central polychrome rooster, with a blue body, red comb, and long multicolored tail, on a vegetated ground. Three stylized red and green bouquets distributed on the wing. Enamelled reverse, ring foot, and concentric grooves under the base. The variations in lines and color blocks are consistent with a decoration executed by brush. Legible inscription: "M.B.F.A. PORNIC". Mark of the Breton Manufacture of Artistic Faïences of Pornic. Legible inscription: "Hand-painted". Mention of the decoration process, consistent with the visible workmanship. Uncertain reading: "COQ". Likely designation of the decor; the central letter is imperfectly formed. Faïence with white glaze. Molded support with scalloped edge, polychrome decoration probably painted by brush and fixed by firing. Apparent good condition of the decorated face. Small glaze irregularities and wear on the reverse; foot inspection necessary to distinguish manufacturing defects and small chips. Small dots and pinholes in the glaze. Rough area with possible superficial losses on a portion of the ring foot. No cracks or obvious restorations on the provided views. Diameter 19.5 cm.
