Large abstract stoneware sculpture by french ceramist and sculptor hervé rousseau. The artist's signature is affixed to the interior. Hervé rousseau creates works with archaic and primitive forms, directly inspired by nature and gesture. In 1980, he built a kiln for wood firing. His travels, particularly in africa, and his encounter with japanese potter ryoji koie in 2005 reinforced his instinctive approach to clay, which he grasps and shapes with force. Simplicity and speed authenticate his approach, where freedom of movement prevails. Each piece is unique, a true metaphor for the body and the landscape. The sculpture was presented at the exhibition hervé rousseau: the trace of the wind, at the musée la piscine in roubaix, march-april 2015. Literature: hervé rousseau: fire in the earth, éditions ateliers d'art de france, frédéric bodet & bernard david, march 2015, p.88-89.
