The slender silhouette of the virgin, draped in a tunic with rich folds and worked borders, seems to float in the air. She holds the child in her left hand, who himself carries the earth in his left hand. They are both topped with a solid walnut crown, cut directly from a solid block. The height of delight, they are removable! That of the virgin is finished with a lily. The work is sumptuous, both very fine and still a little naive. The work on the hair is quite fascinating, not to mention that of the tunic additions which protrude to the left, like lightning. It rests on an attached base (from the 18th century). The patina and style match perfectly. On the "defects" side, we note gaps (the attributes of the characters that they must have held in their hands, the top of the child's crown, probably a small cross) and several slits, the largest of which crosses the body of the virgin without touching her face. A stigma undoubtedly of the temperature variations specific to churches. Traces of worms, as it should be, small marks etc. But overall it is in excellent condition.
