14x18 cm / 4 Kg. Pair of antique decorative fire dogs in cast iron, adorned with hybrid female figures inspired by Assyrian art. Characteristic decor of the historicist and Orientalist taste, freely drawing on the iconography of Near Eastern antiquity. Hollow moulded construction, black finish with metallic reflections. The raw backs show signs of old oxidation. 1 broken at the back. Sold together as a pair.
