Pair of Two-Arm Wall Lights in Gold Metal with Leaf Decoration

Each wall light features an ascending plant composition in gilded metal: sinuous stems, cut, repoussé, and veined acanthus leaves, punctuated by golden berry-like spheres. Two light arms in opposing scrolls extend from it, ending in collars with leaf-like embellishments forming blossomed flowers. The lower part concludes with an elegant winding of drooping foliage. This work of gilded sheet metal shaped into naturalistic scrolls is part of the great Florentine tradition of gilded metal, which the Italian workshops of the 1950s continued to uphold, competing in creativity with Parisian productions to enliven walls with luminous vegetation. Condition report: Generally good condition. Original gilding with a warm patina, slight wear revealing the metal in places, inherent to age. Electrical wiring to be checked before use. A pair full of movement on either side of a mirror, a fireplace, or a headboard.
