Danish Mid-Century Modern Chest of Drawers, Denmark, ca. 1960s

A Danish mid‑century modern chest of drawers, crafted in Denmark in the 1960s, distinguished by its refined proportions and beautifully bookmatched façade. The six drawers form a rhythmic, uninterrupted surface, each front shaped with sculpted integral pulls that eliminate the need for applied hardware and underscore the purity of Scandinavian modernism. The wood displays a rich, warm tone enhanced by an even, glossy lacquered finish that remains free of losses, chips, or fading. Raised on a clean, architectural stand, the piece has an elegant verticality and a light footprint, typical of Danish cabinetry of the period. Inside, the traditionally dovetailed drawers reveal pale secondary‑wood interiors; an appealing contrast and a testament to quality craftsmanship. The chest presents exceptionally well, retaining both its structural integrity and its original mid‑century character.
