Authentic chinese lacquer and gold leaf screen

Elegant screen painted in black lacquer known as coromandel. With 1 side gilded with fine gold and subjects sculpted in color 1 black side with sculpted designs and colors it measures 185 in height and has 4 sides of 40 cm its thickness is 2.5 cm it shows some traces of wear over time but nothing important. It has served as a headboard for many years but it is also very good for dividing a room or hiding a corner of the house. The type of so-called “coromandel” lacquerware was created in china around the middle of the 17th century. The decoration, surrounded by deep incisions and modeled in hollow, is then painted using matte colored pigments, green, red, blue and white, often accompanied by gold, which contrast with the shine of the lacquer.
